John Tobias has seen all manner of automobile air fresheners cross his desk. Most of them were uninspired pine trees or generic leaves and fruit, said Tobias,
"They’re all just so boring. They’re either green or yellow or blue, but they’re all the same. I knew I could design something better than that," said Tobias,
This month, Tobias’ own line of designer air fresheners will hit the market. "Johnny T’s Air Fresheners" are shaped like T-shirts and come in nine different designs, including skull and crossbones, camouflage and the Puerto Rican flag.
Tobias had fresheners manufactured in New York and will distribute his product to clients throughout the country. He hopes to sell his product at retail outlets in the next year.
Although Tobias’ T-shirt air fresheners have different themes, the fragrances are typical of other products on the market.
"I wasn’t trying to reinvent the wheel here. Just jazz things up," Tobias said.
